Gulab jamun is a traditional sweet from the Indian subcontinent prepared by deep frying a batter made from milk solids, then dunking these delicious doughnuts in a rose flavored sugar syrup. My take on the Gulab jamun is non-dairy and does not involve deep frying! I’ve tried to replicate the flavors and textures by creating cake balls made from a moist vegan cake.

S/O to my sister @cakeityourway who helped me with the cake technicalities, @egglesscooking for the vegan date cake recipe and @cookwithmanali for the sugar syrup recipe.
